Reflecting on the York Ebor Festival

Looking back on what ended up being an up and down week at York. I was extremely lucky to get away relatively lightly from the fall aboard Crystal Delight in the Ebor, It was terribly sad for connections to lose him. I ended up having three winners on Treasured Time, Elmonjed & Celandine. William Haggas always targets York with nice horses so it was pleasing to give him some winners! It was also fantastic to see Hollie win the Nunthorpe (G1) on Bradsell and hit 1000 winners in the last fortnight too - a big milestone to hit which is a tough thing to do, especially at such a young age. I am proud of everything she has achieved, it’s truly remarkable, especially riding some top class horses in that too.

It has been a great 10 days since being back in the saddle, after having a few days off after the fall, but was worth getting back quick. It was also a great weekend just gone, riding two trebles, one at Haydock and then the Saturday at Kempton.

I am excited to ride Porta Fortuna and Economics this weekend at the Irish Champions Weekend - he was really impressive in France and Porta Fortuna absolutely bolted up at Ascot and in the Falmouth after - she is an exceptionally high class filly and great to be getting back aboard her.

Winter plans are coming along now and hopefully we will have some exciting news for everyone soon. There is plenty to look forward too!
