Rest in Peace, Stefano.

This week, the racing community grieved the passing of jockey Stefano, a remarkable young man dedicated to chasing his dreams, known for his infectious smile that brightened everyone's day. It was a privilege to have known and ridden alongside him. My deepest condolences and thoughts are with his incredibly strong, and special family during this incredibly sad and difficult time.

Once more, my time in Australia has been really enjoyable aside from the tragedy of losing Stefano. Among my highlights was winning the G2 Phar Lap at Rosehill Gardens aboard Zardozi for Godolphin and trainer James Cummings.

Following on with an impressive performance from Post Impressionists to win the G3 Manion Cup. First of all it only seems right to recognise the remarkable efforts of William, Maureen, assistant trainer Issy Paul who accompanied Post Impressionist throughout his time in Sydney and the entire Somerville Lodge team at home who made these successes possible. It has been wonderful to be back and receive tremendous support from some fantastic people. I can’t thank everyone enough.

As my time in Australia draws to a close, I'll be concluding with a strong book of rides at Royal Randwick during the first weekend of the Championships, which always marks the end of my journey here. Some of my rides will include Corniche in the Arrowfeild, Zardozi in the Oaks, Mahrajaan in the Sydney Cup, and Ceowulf in the Queen Elizabeth Stakes.

I’m obviously really looking forward to getting home, both to see family, and crack on with the busy season ahead! Once again, there's a big and exciting team of horses to look forward to at Somerville Lodge. Here's to hoping for a spectacular season!

I would like to wish everyone happiness and health this season, and to keep Stefano’s family in our thoughts throughout the coming weeks.
