Breeders' Cup ‘24

I am really looking forward to being back at the Breeders Cup this year after a great trip last year.

Rides

We have BIG EVS going back again so hopefully we can go for the repeat - he has been in fantastic order. Sadly we have been drawn 11 but hopefully that won't stop him - the other fancied horses have been drawn out wide as well so fingers crossed we can get a good run and he can go well.

BIG MOJO has obviously been a good solid two-year-old this year and I am really looking forward to riding him again for Rachel, Paul & Mick. He was a winner of the Group 3 Molecomb and did it in a ridiculous time so hopefully he will get around the bend okay and can follow up Big Evs’ Breeders Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint last year.

PORTA FORTUNA has been drawn 7 - she is obviously absolutely electric. She is foot perfect and will love the ground. The track won't be a problem - she was in America last year, albeit it wasn’t Del Mar but very similar at Santa Anita so she should be absolutely fine around there and give a bold run.

THE WAKO KID is coming off the back of winning at Newmarket quite impressively. He is a tidy, neat little horse so hopefully whipping around Del Mar won't cause a problem and hopefully he will go well for Hugo Palmer and the team.

Winter plans

We are really looking forward to flying straight on to Japan and starting our 2 month stint with our short term license there. We are looking forward to settling back into Japanese life and hopefully riding a few winners!
