1000 UK Winners
First of all I’d like to start by thanking everyone for all of their kind messages to congratulate me on reaching 1000 UK winners, it’s a milestone I’m extremely proud of reaching, but one that I’m going to pass the thanks on to everyone that’s been a part of getting every horse I’ve ridden along the way, from breeders, grooms, travellers, trainers and owners. The time, passion, work and investment it takes to get each horse to the racetrack is staggering, and I’m hugely grateful to be a small part of the of the machine that is horse racing!
I’m very lucky to have had such a great support team behind me, including Sash Righton my agent, who has done the most superb job from the start of my career finding winners up and down the country! It’s been a fantastic ride so far, and I’m thoroughly looking forward to trying to find the next 1000 winners.
St Leger day was made extremely special with The King and Queen making the trip to Doncaster to support Desert Hero who took his chance in the oldest classic in the calendar, he ran a huge race to finish third, and a trip to Melbourne was on the cards for him but has subsequently been put off with an eye on his future. Hopefully, he may get his opportunity to go down under next season if all goes to plan!
There’s plenty to look forward to once again over the weeks ahead, starting with Relief Rally and Lake Forest heading into their Group 1’s this weekend at Newmarket, and then France on Sunday for Arc day with what could shape up to be a busy weekend of rides in Group 1’s.
While looking ahead to the first part of the winter, plans for Hollie and I are starting to come together now and we are hoping that trips to The Breeders Cup, and then onto Melbourne for the Cup are on the cards, following which we have been granted a license by the JRA in Japan from 11th November through to 29th December, so we’ll be heading to Japan for what can hopefully be another successful, and enjoyable trip. It was a trip that we both loved last year, and one we are really looking forward to make again to continue on from such an amazing experience!
I’ll keep you all updated on further plans and how we get on, and in the meantime I hope you all get a chance to enjoy the last snippets of summer and top class racing!
