Reflecting on Champions Day

It has been nice to have a couple of weeks to reflect on Champions Day, it was a pretty mad weekend and it was nice to have the day after off to let it all sink in.

However, the racing doesn't stop and it has been a really busy couple of weeks. I think I ended up with 23 winners for the month of October and I think we may have unearthed some pretty exciting horses for next year. Jacinth was really impressive at Lingfield and Sea Empress who won at Newcastle for William Haggas are two that I am excited about going forward. I am particularly pleased with Sea Empress as the same connections lost the outstanding Sea Of Class a few years ago and hopefully they have found another good one here.

It's now all systems go for the abroad trips. Sadly I am not going to the Breeders' Cup but Hollie is so I am looking forward to watching what should hopefully be a great couple of days racing. Looking forward to what's to come, I have the Bahrain Trophy coming up which I should be heading out for and there are a few more meetings after that out there which I hope to ride in.

Heading into the festive period I think it's going to be a very different year. I think there are going to be a lot more horses running later in the year than normal due to the fact that we did not have racing for the first couple of months due to the coronavirus. I am hoping I will be able to find a few more smart maidens to take me into next year and hopefully the travel restrictions will ease and I can head abroad to ride as well.

Stay Safe
